Carbon Nanotubes(CNTs), particularly Single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) possess remarkable properties, such as their high super mechanical strength and elasticity, excellent electrical and thermal conductivity, and other tunable chemical and physical properties, that make them promising candidates for a wide variety of revolutionary applications, including super light high-strength fibers, flat field-emission devices, and mechanical or electrical components of many nano-scale devices. Our group is focusing on developing SWNTS synthesis, purification, characterization, modifications and their composite materials necessary to move CNTs and SWNTS materials from a scientific curiosity to a viable component of future working technologies and applications.
